No. Our residents have diverse academic interests and this provides for a balanced residency program.
No. All five years of training are combined in the categorical track. Applicants should submit their application to child neurology. However, interviews with applicants will be provided jointly and coordinated by child neurology. There is no requirement to submit a separate application to pediatrics. We have partnered with the MGFC pediatric residency. The pediatric interview will occur the same week as the interview for our program. Interviews for both are held over two days on Wednesday and Thursday.
Our application deadline is October 15, but we encourage applicants to apply as early as possible.
No, however, we strongly prefer applicants who are within 5 years of graduation from medical school or who have been continuously involved with clinical work.
US clinical experience is strongly preferred. Observerships, while helpful and potentially productive, are not considered clinical experience.
You must be ECFMG certified when applying but we might review your application if you expect to be certified soon. You must be certified to be considered for ranking.
No. The USMLE performance is just one measure of an applicant’s potential.
No. Canadian physicians and Doctors of Osteopathy who are eligible for licensure may substitute documentation of successful completion of LMCC/MCCQE and COMLEX examinations, respectively, in lieu of USMLE examinations.

Yes. We have a strong history of training foreign medical graduates in our program. Our residency welcomes individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences.
No. However, we strongly prefer applicants with US clinical experience. Hands-on clinical rotations are preferable to observerships.

Yes, we provide both J1 and H1B visas for applicants who match with us. The visa type depends on the individual resident's situation. Applicants usually continue on the type of visa they held during internship(provided to them by the Pediatric departments either at our hospitals or at outside institutions). MGB has an International Office, which handles Visas and you are not required to retain a lawyer.
